50(650MB) CD-ROM CACHING SYSTEM (CYCLONE 500MHZ PROCESSOR AND 128MB RAM) FOR APPLE, NOVELL (NDS) OR NT (2000) NETWORKS. CDs ARE CACHED TO AN INTERNAL HARD DISK FOR ADDITIONAL ACCESS SPEED. This is an 8 bay rack mount system using the X-Stor Cyclone controller. It has a 500MHZ processor and 128MB ram. The controller has both SCSI and IDE buses. The Lightning 50 has 40GB IDE hard disc cache and 2 Nakamichi SCSI 5 disc mini-changer for loading. The unit is 10/100 full duplex ETHERNET. Salesman can substitute a DVD drive for Nakamichi at no charge, just order the system and we will send DVD free. A CDR can be added to the systems as well. The software is included. We recommend the Yamaha or Plextor line of recorders. All IDE hard drives have been tested with this system and all are compatible for expansion. The system includes all cabling for expansion of system and for the addition of DVD or CDR. Works with all network protocols NDS, WIN2000, MAC Appletalk and MAC IP. NFS mounting for UNIX systems.
