When configuring your SCSI controller to operate properly with your tower, you will need to adjust some bios options from the controller card.  Typically your SCSI controller has been configured from the factory to support a Hard Disk.  Cdrom's are not as fast as Hard Drives, so the controller needs to be tuned down to work properly with the slower devices.
